With VW Car-Net®, you'll be getting a whole suite of technologies that will help you be more in tune with your VW vehicle. There's App-Connect, which lets you access and use music, mapping, and other apps on your dash from your compatible smartphone; there's Guide & Inform, which helps navigate you through not only real-time traffic, but also the latest sports scores and weather; and there's Security & Service, which takes care of you in the event of an emergency and lets you check the status of your VW remotely.

App-Connect - Accesses Your SmartPhone Features Via Your Car's Dashboard
With App-Connect, you can choose between Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink to sync up your smartphone with the screen on the dashboard of your VW. Maps, messaging, music, and more will show up on your touchscreen display, making it easier and safer for you to stay in touch and get where you need to go. You'll be able to play not only your favorite music, but also your podcasts, audiobooks, and sports broadcasts, as well as some third-party music apps. You can also make calls and even use Google Voice to manage your smartphone hands-free. It's pretty awesome, we know.
 

Guide & Inform - Provides Built-in Navigation System Features Through SiriusXM®
Guide & Inform, the VW Car-Net® answer to traditional road maps and clunky GPS units, gives you satellite navigation, weather reports, and traffic updates - all on the touchscreen in your dashboard. A lot of these features come from Sirius XM, but luckily you'll have the option of a 3-month trial subscription when you purchase your new VW.
 

Security & Service - Upgrades Your Vehicle's Safety Features With VW Car-Net®
Security & Service is Volkswagen's way of making sure you're as safe as possible in one of their vehicles, whether or not you're behind the wheel. Some of the features include letting you check to see if you locked your doors, find where you parked your car, and even call for help in the event of an emergency. If your vehicle gets stolen, Volkswagen will help local law enforcement authorities find it for you. You'll also be able to check on the status of your car from the VW Car-Net® app on your smartphone or laptop - you can lock and unlock your doors, honk the horn and flash the lights, and even send directions to the navigation system.
